Phase Three
Let's Talk About Phase Three
Phase Three is where our trainers are putting on the finishing touches. We get the dogs tested by the CGCA (AKC Community Canine) and finish up the task work. This Phase puts the dogs in the ultimate test in environment and helps to work their tasks and solidify those for our handlers. As you progress into Phase Three you will see this is the most customizable phase.
What does that mean in our program?
Our trainers work heavily with our new handlers to start the transition process. We are still spending the 200 hours over the next 16 weeks in active training with each dog and our focus turns to the final transition and title to put on the dog. Errorless SDs will put in 3 tasks to each Service Dog that goes from our program, and this is the phase where we really refine those tasks and make sure they are operable in a busy environment. Remember that if your dog is on the “Service Dogs for Sale,” page they must complete phases one – three. If your dog is from the “Service Dog Drop Out,” page we can be more flexible with our work.
In this 16 week period we will also add another 200 hours of active work with your dog to get them ready for actual Service Dog work. The price for this phase is $13,850 and will be tested by a third party trainer in a city atmosphere (either a train station, airport or somewhere comparable.) The task work will have been filmed during each phase and especially during this one. Our goal in filming all of this for our clients is to show them how to handle their dog and how to handle any slip ups that may
happen in public.
