Multi-Purpose Service Dogs from Errorless SDs

"Multi-Purpose," is a catch all term in our program. We often have clients call and want two or three specific tasks for a disability that we don't specialize in. Can we still help them? Absolutely! There are a lot of tasks we can teach that are not necessarily specific to a Mobility Support Service Dog or a Psychiatric Service Dog but can still be life changing for clients dealing with many different disabilities. Some examples with in our program when we have clients with multiple diagnosis' such as autism with adhd. We have done many dogs for POTS clients (postural tachycardia syndrome) and some of the Agoraphobia that can come along with POTS. There are so many times when we have one disability diagnosed and more follow as fall out from the first diagnosis. This is where the multi-purpose dog comes into play so heavily for our clients. Think about a diabetic alert dog that has one job of scent work to alert the handler of rising or falling blood sugar levels. The multi-purpose service dog has many jobs and many things to help the handler with each day to preserve the quality of life for the handler. These are dogs that help with the domino affect that having a disability can create in a handlers life.

If you have extra questions about what we offer please do reach out and speak with our trainers about tasks you may need or want offered to you. If you are curious about dogs we have available check out our Trained Service Dogs page. In those profiles we do our best to list task work that we believe that dog will have success with. The dogs will be categorized into these specializations so they are easier for our clients to search through. This will create an easier search and help find the dogs that will likely best fit your needs in our program.
